A disturbance report at a hotel in Kingston, Ontario, this week resulted in police uncovering drugs concealed within a whole rotisserie chicken.
On Thursday, Kingston police stated that officers responded to the hotel around 9:45 p.m. on Tuesday following reports of an individual threatening staff. The person had been involved in a dispute, was asked to leave, and reacted by making threats before returning to a hotel room, as detailed in a police Facebook post.
The suspect was apprehended, and a search of the hotel room revealed two pellet guns and a rotisserie chicken, which, upon closer examination, was discovered to contain bags of drugs, according to police reports. Officers confiscated 46.1 grams of fentanyl, 10.8 grams of cocaine, and 25.2 grams of crystal methamphetamine.
A 44-year-old individual from the Greater Toronto Area has been charged with two counts of making threats to cause death or bodily harm, two counts of possession of weapons dangerous to public peace, two counts of carrying a concealed weapon, three counts of breaching probation, failure to comply with a release order, and three counts of possession of a Schedule I substance with the intent to traffic.
The identity of the accused has not been disclosed by the police, and they remain in custody.
