A deadly bomb explosion targeted a passenger bus on the Nushki-Dalbandin highway in Balochistan, Pakistan, killing at least seven people and injuring dozens.
Police Statement
According to police officials, the blast occurred near a bus traveling on the Nushki-Dalbandin road. Initial reports confirmed five fatalities, while 35 others were injured. The wounded were immediately shifted to Nushki Hospital for emergency medical care.
Tragically, two of the injured later succumbed to their wounds, raising the death toll to seven. Authorities have warned that several of the injured remain in critical condition.
Emergency Declared in Hospital
The administration of Mir Gul Khan Naseer Teaching Hospital has declared a state of emergency, ensuring that all available medical staff are attending to the injured.
Balochistan Chief Minister’s Reaction
Balochistan’s Chief Minister, Sarfraz Bugti, strongly condemned the attack, calling it an attempt to destabilize the province. He expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and extended his condolences to the victims’ families.
Sarfraz Bugti stated:
“We will ensure that those behind this attack face severe consequences. The security of Balochistan will not be compromised.”
“Cowardly acts of terrorism cannot shake our resolve. The terrorists responsible for such attacks will not find any safe havens.”
“The enemies of peace should know that the state will crush their nefarious designs, and this fight will continue until the last terrorist is eliminated.”
Security forces have launched an investigation, and authorities have vowed to bring those responsible to justice as soon as possible.
