LA – Austin Butler was offered role in Elvis and his co-star Tom Hanks told him to avoid an “emotional whiplash” from the role in the 2022 biopic. He told The Sunday Times, Hanks offered him a role in an upcoming TV show Masters of the Air, and told him at dinner one evening: “You have immersed yourself so deeply in Elvis that, for your mental health, it would be wise to go straight into something else. If you just jump off the train, you might have emotional whiplash. And, you know, I’ve got this thing I’m producing.” To prepare for the role of legendary singer Elvis Presley, Austin studied his life for two years, and even changed his voice to play the iconic role.
