LONDON – Monkeypox has spread in over 70 countries and the World Health Organization has declared it an emergency. However, it does not necessarily mean it is particularly transmissible or lethal. Similar declarations were made for Zika virus, Ebola, polio and the Covid-19 pandemic. Canada has confirmed 681 monkeypox cases.
Tanzania – Tanzanian health officials are reporting a “strange” bleeding disease that has so far affected 13 people and killed three people.
